Struggling in the Black Community as a Black Man, [Part 2].

Part 2 of my post about struggling in the black community as a black man.

Consider this an add-on bonus, dlc even, for the main game.

Investments, networking. Building relationships. Self-defense. Keeping what you've built so far, and building further. Finding something to do during the struggle, to distract you from it.

In my first post I talked about gaining stability. Getting a job that you can tolerate for up to a year maybe a year and a half, & that paid the bills. Grinding until you've met a goal you set for yourself.

Be it an apartment & moving out on your own, a car, etc.

Now it's time to put the money you've save to good use so that when the opportunity presents itself, you can either leave your job or worker fewer hours.

For instance, if I had a business or business idea, I'd stack and put aside a certain amount so that I could use it as captain for the business idea & keep stacking elsewhere.

Someone in the previous post pointed out side hustles. You can also ask your bank to invest some of your paper so that you get something while it's just sitting there (besides savings interests). My homie he told me he did this. He took about $5000 of his money & had his bank invest it on his behalf. You can also ask the bank to reinvest your returns.

Network with other Black men, there's something inspiring about know what other brothers are doing, you never r know if they may have a link or plug that might help you make some paper on the side. Build relationships with other like-minded Black men.

Women have this thing where if they spend enough time together their periods sync up, we as men kinda sync up as well but not like that (obviously), when we have a bond with one another and someone has good news, we all usually start to get good news as well. Same thing when we get bad news, it keeps you on your toes. Life has a way of reminding you not to get too comfortable because you are black.

This really should have been first. Find a distraction during the grind. Be it video games or watching Netflix, streaming on twitch or listening to music. Without something to distract you, the grind can seem boring. If I didn't have the internet, my PS3/PS4 are stocked with games I can play until things get better. I have a game boy advance so, a DS & 3DS with plenty of games, I can watch backlogs of movies on a 500gb external hard drive. Tons of music. I can also sharpen my skills in whatever business I have an interest in. Software on my laptops that would help me write my next book if I choose to. I also have a collection of books.

Whatever helps keep you out of trouble, go for it.

You could also learn self-defense if you haven't.

At the same time, in some situations, it's ok to let go of petty things. A mofo trying to win against you and you're already living, doing well, let them win, it's a small petty victory. That's the only W they'll ever get. I ain't saying let someone who punched you in the face slide, but arguments, arguments aren't ever going to benefit you when your opponent is a loser.

In closing;

Build relationships, keep what you've built so far & build even further. Find something to do during the struggle, to distract you from it. -SSM
